Due to the lack of housing policy in Slovenia, the prices of flats have skyrocketed in the last 30 years. Social housing is almost non-existing, new apartments are more or less high-end and significantly overpriced. In the heart of Ljubljana, there is a 7,000 square meters loft, known by locals as Kolizej, which has been empty for a decade.

Kolizej affordable housing project was designed to reuse old shipping containers that provide 42 living units. Low construction costs enabled very low rents. We created a mock-up advertising and landing page www.kolizej.si for these units and they were sold out in less than 36 hours. We also received an angry email from an investor planning to build a luxury apartments complex there, accusing our website of hurting their business. The site was live for less than 48 hours.
